That\u2019s okay: I\u2019ve got my own nostalgias too, and in this case, I\u2019m happy to admit I\u2019m a bit old-school.<\/span><\/p>\n Social media is great for giving a web project a voice, but what I\u2019m after goes beyond one-way communication. I want to share whatever might be useful to others while learning from the insights that others bring to specific topics. What really draws me in is being part of a community built around a shared passion, a place to talk, plan meetups, solve problems, and, best of all, do it all for free. Pure \u201cwiki spirit\u201d1<\/sup>, from the old-school days of the genuine internet.<\/span><\/p>\n Since my teenage years, I\u2019ve been part of communities and forums like these, and my experiences have been nothing but positive. There\u2019s no room for haters there: they get bored quickly, because what matters isn\u2019t the self but the community. They\u2019ve helped me a lot over the years (with photography, bike mechanics, travel) and that\u2019s why I\u2019d like to create a space that captures the essence of Deriva Lenta, a project that goes far beyond a single niche. <\/span><\/p>\n Still, I have to admit the critics (the imaginary ones in my head) kind of have a point: setting up a web forum these days does feel a bit old-fashioned. For me, Telegram is the natural evolution of those old forums.
