Updated August 6, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n When I published this post in August 2025, the answer seemed simple to me: Wikiloc was enough.<\/p>\n I uploaded my first route to Wikiloc in 2012 and, ever since, whenever I have wanted to discover a trail or leave a trace of my own, adding my small contribution to the \u201cWiki spirit\u201d1<\/sup>, I have returned to that same platform. It is the one I know, the one I feel comfortable using, and the one that has been with me for more than a decade. <\/p>\n For a long time, I also felt no need to create multiple profiles or scatter the same track across different apps. Deriva Lenta routes could be downloaded directly from the website, and everyone was free to use them with Wikiloc, Komoot, Ride with GPS or any other tool. <\/p>\n But Deriva Lenta has evolved too.<\/p>\n The development of DL Slow<\/strong> and, in particular, the work involved in preparing some of its routes in greater detail led me to start using Ride with GPS<\/strong>. Its tools allow me to work more effectively with certain aspects of a route: surface types, points of interest, elevation profiles and small changes to the course that are especially useful when planning a bikepacking route. <\/p>\n That does not mean leaving Wikiloc behind or publishing the same thing in two places simply for the sake of being on more platforms. I prefer to think that each one now serves a different purpose. <\/p>\n Wikiloc <\/a>is still, for me, a familiar and well-known place with a huge community, especially in our part of the world. It remains a good gateway for discovering and sharing routes. <\/p>\n Ride with GPS<\/strong>, on the other hand, has become a more technical tool for exploring DL Slow routes<\/a> in greater detail, along with all the information that accompanies them.<\/p>\n And above both of them, there is still Deriva Lenta<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The GPX files available in the website\u2019s download area<\/a> remain the direct reference for each route, together with their version history and updates. From there, everyone can take that track to whichever app or device they feel most comfortable using. <\/p>\n In the end, it is not about choosing one platform and discarding the others. It is about using each tool where it genuinely adds something to the journey. <\/p>\n And if you ever find a problem with any of the Deriva Lenta tracks, or have any questions about them, write to me<\/a>.
