Morella dominates the landscape from its height, a fortress that has watched the passing of time for centuries.
Whoever leaves its walls soon feels they have entered another rhythm: that of the mountains, the wind, and the stone villages clinging to the slopes to withstand the winter. <\/p>\n

The road moves on along quiet lanes that cross wide, solitary valleys. The pedalling is steady, without sudden changes, but it demands attention: this is not about speed, but about finding a pace that can be sustained for hours. Scattered farmhouses appear along the way, with worn walls and sagging roofs, like traces of a life that endured for generations. On clear days, the light spreads across the fields and reveals a landscape without artifice: austere, beautiful and full of history. <\/p>\n

Higher up, the mountain range opens out and the wind takes centre stage. On the high plains of Celumbres, the body works almost without noticing, pushed by an air that sometimes helps and at other times resists without warning. There, the pedalling becomes steady, almost hypnotic. The silence is broken only by the brush of the wind and the flight of the vultures, circling above the ridgelines as if watching over their own territory. In the distance, the northern mountains and the Mola d\u2019Ares draw a stony horizon that invites you to keep going without checking the time. <\/p>\n

Among the high ground, small villages perch on the edge of the void. These are places where church bells still mark the hours and life moves slowly, in balance with the mountain. Stopping for a few minutes allows you to catch your breath and observe without haste. Further on, the valleys narrow and the landscape shifts in tone: green takes over, forests close in, and the air becomes damp and cool. <\/p>\n

As the route descends southwards, the road enters the domains of the Tinen\u00e7a de Benifass\u00e0 Natural Park. After hours spent at altitude, the descent is a relief for the legs, though it demands continued attention. Rivers carve their way along the bottoms of the ravines, and the scent of pine and damp earth accompanies every bend. In the villages, silence is almost complete, and it only takes a brief pause to hear the murmur of water or the creak of branches. <\/p>\n

The return towards Morella arrives with a feeling of serene calm, the kind that comes when the effort is already behind you and the body finds its place. The city reappears on the horizon, its silhouette cut against the sky like a stone lighthouse guiding the end of the journey. And as you pass once more beneath its walls, you understand that this loop does more than cross mountains and valleys: it moves through the soul of the Maestrazgo, a land where history, solitude and beauty still walk side by side.<\/p>\n<\/div>
